Earlier this year, Honor established a benchmark for the AI phone market with the Magic6 series, featuring MagicOS 8.0. The arrival of numerous AI functions, such as the "Any Door" and YOYO Assistant, showcased the potential of combining large models with smartphone hardware. On October 30th, Honor hosted the Magic7 series flagship product launch event at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center, unveiling the Magic7 and Magic7 Pro, the first phones to pre-load MagicOS 9.0.

Magic7: Exclusive New Color, Hardware Benchmarks "Ultra-Large Cup"

The standard version of the Magic7 series is built entirely with a "Pro" mindset, with Honor maximizing performance, screen, and peripheral configuration to satisfy consumers' desire for both. To highlight the Magic7's standing, Honor differentiated its design and color scheme, appointing renowned actress Zhu Zhu as its Art and Aesthetics Ambassador.

The Magic7 maintains the design of its predecessor, but boasts a more rigid mid-frame and a slightly smaller Deco size for the rear-mounted camera module. In terms of color, the Magic7 offers a range of options including Snow White, Sky Blue, Velvet Black, and Moonlight Grey, but it also boasts the exclusive "Dawn Gold" color, a unique blend of orange gold, white, and red hues that creates a dynamic visual effect in sunlight.

The most significant difference in the standard Magic7 lies in its screen form factor. The Honor Magic7 finally returns to a flat-panel design. The screen measures 6.78 inches with a 1.5K resolution, and the entire series features the Global All-Weather AI Eye Protection Oasis Screen. The Magic7 series display panel also employs hardware-level circularly polarized light eye protection technology, enhancing eye protection across a wide viewing angle.

The entire Magic7 series is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy mobile platform. This SoC is manufactured using TSMC's second-generation 3nm process and adopts a PC-level dual-large-core architecture. The two newly developed Qualcomm second-generation Oryon cores boast a 4.32GHz clock speed, coupled with six performance cores clocked at 3.53GHz. Both single-core and multi-core performance far surpass the previous generation. Additionally, Honor's self-developed ultra-wide VC cooling system plays a significant role in boosting performance in extreme scenarios.

Image enhancements are relatively straightforward. In terms of hardware, the Magic7 adheres to the triple camera setup of a wide-angle lens, a telephoto lens, and an ultrawide-angle lens. The main camera features the same H9000 sensor as its predecessor, a slight upgrade of the OV50H; the ultrawide-angle lens boasts 50 million pixels and supports high-definition macro photography; and the telephoto lens has been upgraded to the LYT-600 in this generation, employing a periscope design with OIS optical image stabilization.

Moreover, the previously praised "Elegance Portrait" mode also makes its debut on this generation of Magic series devices, with enhanced portrait algorithms for more refined processing of light and shadow and facial textures. The new AI telephoto algorithm enhances the capabilities of the new LYT-600 periscope telephoto lens, enabling approximately 20x hybrid zoom, delivering clearer and sharper image results.

The entire Magic7 series comes standard with 3D ultrasonic fingerprint recognition, IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance, 100W super fast charging + 80W wireless fast charging, the new generation Qinghai Lake battery, symmetrical dual speakers, etc.

Magic7 Pro: Design, Imaging, and Battery Life Upgrades

The Magic7 Pro focuses on enhancements in design, imaging, and battery life. The Magic7 Pro retains the core design of its predecessor, the Magic6 Pro, including the well-received depth-adjustable curved screen. The same Global All-Weather AI Eye Protection Oasis Screen from the standard version is also included. However, the most noticeable difference from the standard version is the switch from a single-hole camera arrangement to a pill-shaped camera cut-out on the front. A 3D facial recognition module is positioned next to the camera, enabling contactless control and gaze detection.

The Magic7 Pro is currently the first Android phone on the market to feature both 3D ultrasonic fingerprint recognition and 3D facial recognition. Regardless of your preference for fingerprint unlocking or face unlocking, you can enjoy reliable and payment-level unlocking experiences.
