Redmi General Manager Wang Teng announced that he will be hosting a livestream at 7pm on November 7th, discussing the new Redmi K80 with Redmi product manager Hu Xinxin. During the livestream, one Redmi K80 will be given away every 10 minutes. In response, Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing jokingly asked on Weibo, "Is this an official leak?"

The Redmi K80 series has already received network access permits. The Redmi K80 standard model, with the model number 24122RKC7C, supports 90W wired fast charging. The Redmi K80 Pro, model number 24127RK2CC, supports 120W wired fast charging.

From the information available, the Redmi K80 series will feature a 2K straight screen across the board, likely supplied by Huaxing, and an under-screen camera design. The screen brightness, eye protection features, and display quality are expected to be significantly upgraded.

One of the biggest highlights of the Redmi K80 series is the inclusion of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy processor. This chip features the second-generation Qualcomm Oryon CPU and is manufactured using TSMC's second-generation 3nm process.

The Oryon CPU in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy still has 8 cores, following a "2+6" architecture with 2 super cores and 6 performance cores. It eliminates the small core. Compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Oryon CPU in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy offers a 45% improvement in both single-core and multi-core performance, along with a 44% increase in energy efficiency.

Besides the powerful processor, the Redmi K80 Pro will also feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. However, this also means its price will be slightly higher. Wang Teng explained the reason for the price increase for this year's flagship devices, stating that the upgraded flagship processor utilizes the latest 3nm fabrication process, leading to increased cost, while the memory has seen continued price increases for a year, reaching its peak. Therefore, the price increase is more significant for models with larger memory configurations.
