Bitcoin Futures Close Slightly Lower on Friday, but Up Over 10% for the Week
The CME Bitcoin futures contract (BTC) closed down $0.10 on Friday, down 0.10% from Thursday's close in New York, but saw a cumulative gain of 10.57% for the week. Despite the slight drop on Friday, Bitcoin futures traded within a range of $67,140.00 to $77,930.00 for the week. Notably, Bitcoin futures saw a significant rally after the voting portion of the US election concluded, and the gains were solidified throughout the remainder of the week.
Over the past seven natural days, spot Bitcoin has gained approximately 10.60%, currently trading around $76,530, breaking a recent narrow range trading pattern around the $70,000 level on November 6th.
The CME Ethereum futures contract (DCR) closed at $2,966.00, up 1.68% from Thursday, with a cumulative gain of 17.21% for the week. Similar to Bitcoin futures, Ethereum futures also saw a rebound on November 6th and continued to trade upward, fluctuating within a range of $2,370.00 to $3,010.50 for the week.
