OPPO Find X8 Series to Launch Two Major New Devices: Ultra and Mini
Earlier, OPPO released the standard and Pro versions of its Find X8 series smartphones. It is reported that OPPO will soon launch two more major new devices: the flagship imaging phone Find X8 Ultra and the small-screen straight-screen phone Find X8 mini, with an estimated price range of 4000~7000 yuan.
Recently, blogger @DigitalChatStation has revealed some configuration information about the Find X8 Ultra: This device will feature a 6.82-inch 2K full equal-depth quad-curved straight screen using BOE's X2 luminous material. It will have a 120Hz refresh rate, support 8TLTPO adaptive refresh rate, and be equipped with single-point ultrasonic fingerprint recognition. In terms of imaging, the Find X8 Ultra will feature a 1-inch large-bottom main camera + dual periscope + ultra-wide-angle quad-camera setup, adding a Hasselblad multi-spectral sensor. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy processor and also support IP68/IP69 water resistance.
From the configuration, the Find X8 Ultra will continue the dual-periscope imaging configuration of its predecessor, Find X7 Ultra, and will optimize imaging capabilities based on the previous generation. As a reference, the Find X7 Ultra also supports 3x optical zoom and 6x optical zoom, and pioneered the 135mm portrait telephoto focal length in mobile imaging, making it easier to capture photos with brighter and more detailed images.
Apart from the Find X8 Ultra, OPPO will also launch the high-performance small-screen flagship Find X8 mini. As a reference, the Find X8 standard version has a body thickness of 7.85mm and weighs 193g. The front features a 6.59-inch 1.5K straight screen and 1.45mm physical four-sided equal narrow bezels. The phone's screen peak brightness is 4500 nits, supports 120Hz variable refresh rate, and comes with eye protection features such as blackout eye protection, hardware-level low blue light, and high-frequency PWM. Based on this, it can be inferred that the Find X8 mini may be thinner and lighter than the Find X8, with a screen size smaller than 6.59 inches and equally excellent screen quality.
The entire Find X8 series is equipped with the Dimensity 9400 chip + TianGong cooling system, and the Find X8 Ultra and Find X8 mini are expected to also be equipped with the same performance solution. It is understood that the Dimensity 9400 uses TSMC's 3nm process technology and an all-large-core design, compared to the previous generation, the ray tracing performance has increased by nearly 20%, the NPU computing power has increased by about 40%, the CPU single-core performance has increased by over 30%, and the power consumption has been reduced by 25%. Industry insiders revealed that the chip can more efficiently and smoothly handle complex tasks, run large applications and games, improve the overall performance of smartphones, and extend battery life, providing users with a better control and real-time AI experience.
In terms of battery life, the Find X8 standard version is equipped with a 5630mAh Glacier battery, while the Pro version comes with a 5910mAh Glacier battery. The entire series supports 50W wireless flash charging and reverse charging. The Find X8 Ultra and Find X8 mini are expected to be in line with the Pro version, with battery capacities that provide similar battery life, and may support 100W wired fast charging and wireless fast charging.
In terms of interaction, the Find X8 series comes pre-loaded with ColorOS 15. The new system adopts a "Dynamic Island"-like fluid cloud design and adds features like layered depth wallpapers and a split control center. Adapted applications include Apple Music, Podcast-like apps, and support for transferring pictures, videos, documents, and other content from iPhones. The small window function has been upgraded, including new gestures, banner notifications, and quick replies, as well as the ability to dock two windows simultaneously. In addition, ColorOS 15 also supports the One-Click Ask Screen function, allowing users to activate OPPO AI for answers simply by pressing and holding the power button.
In terms of specific release time, current leaked information shows that the Find X8 Ultra and Find X8 mini are tentatively scheduled to be released in January. The actual release date still needs to be officially announced, so stay tuned.
