Fast Technology, November 13: The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is expected to launch in January next year, with the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra models. Recently, digital blogger "i Ice Universe" revealed that all versions of the Samsung S25 series will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite (Snapdragon 8 Gen 3), emphasizing that rumors about the Exynos 2500 being adopted are not true.
Previously, a Samsung S25+ with Exynos 2500 was spotted on the Geekbench 6 benchmarking platform with the model number SM-S936B. It scored 2359 in single-core and 8141 in multi-core tests, slightly behind the Snapdragon 8 Elite score. There were rumors that the Exynos 2500 version was intended for the European market.
However, latest reports indicate that the Exynos 2500 has been ruled out of the S25 series due to its lower-than-expected yield, making mass production impossible. The Exynos 2500 is Samsung's second-generation 3nm chip, expected to offer 20% to 30% improvement in energy efficiency and density compared to the previous 4nm FinFET process.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite, on the other hand, is Qualcomm's latest and most powerful flagship chip, built on TSMC's second-generation 3nm process. It features Qualcomm's proprietary Oryon architecture, with 2 super cores + 6 large cores, with the super core reaching a frequency of 4.32GHz.
This news implies that the Samsung Galaxy S25 series will be universally equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, leading to enhanced performance and a smoother user experience. However, it also signifies the concerning fate of the Exynos 2500, posing more challenges for Samsung's chip business.
