Compared to traditional Web2 platforms, Web3 platforms demonstrate significant appeal. OpenSea, for example, paid creators an average of $174,500 in 2021, demonstrating the immense potential of Web3 technology in boosting creator revenue.

However, Sun Xiaohan also acknowledged the challenges facing the development of creator finance. Guiding creators to adapt to the new Web3 experience, enabling them to fully understand its value, and ensuring a convenient and secure user experience are crucial issues the industry needs to address. Furthermore, creators need to seamlessly switch between multiple blockchain ecosystems, requiring platforms to enhance discoverability and portability, and offer diverse AI tool integrations to further enhance creative capabilities. This necessitates a more user-friendly and accessible platform to lower the learning curve and usage barriers for creators.

Li Chenxing, a young scientist at the Shanghai ShuTu Blockchain Research Institute, shared his insights on the synergistic development of AI and Web3. He noted that the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence has given rise to new content creation methods and redefined the raw materials and processes of content production. However, due to a lack of trustworthy platforms, the interoperability of secondary development of open-source models and vertical customization by different market entities is limited, hindering the composability of AI technology.

Li Chenxing believes that Web3 technology can effectively address this problem. By combining blockchain technology and privacy computing, a platform can be built with smooth value circulation and controllable data usage, enabling the integration and sharing of secondary development results in different dimensions of the AI field. Currently, the Shanghai ShuTu Blockchain Research Institute is dedicated to solving key technological challenges in the digital foundation of the Web3-powered AI creation era. Its main research directions include: using BSIM technology to address critical roadblocks in personal digital certificates; developing efficient and secure decentralized storage systems; improving the performance of smart contract platforms through high-performance blockchains and research on interaction standards with blockchain sidechains (layer-2 networks); and researching trusted computing power platform scheduling and workload measurement technologies to ensure platform security and efficiency.

This forum was guided by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, and the Shanghai Leading Group Office for the Promotion of Cultural and Creative Industries, and supported by the Shanghai Caohejing Hi-Tech Park Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Center, with co-organization from Fudan University and the East China Branch of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.
