Rumors suggest multiple new releases in 2025, including new iPhones, M4-powered Macs, and a smart home control hub. This article highlights the five most impactful Apple products expected in 2025.

I. iPhone 17 "Air": The Perfect Balance of Thinness and Performance

Rumors suggest Apple will launch an ultra-thin iPhone in 2025, tentatively called the iPhone 17 Air. While the name isn't officially confirmed, "Air" aptly reflects its positioning: it won't be as powerful or expensive as Pro models but will be priced higher than the standard iPhone 17.

This phone is expected to be only 6mm thick, making it the thinnest iPhone to date. This compares to the iPhone 16 Pro's 8.25mm thickness a difference of 2mm. The iPhone 17 Air will feature a 6.6-inch display, falling between the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Due to space constraints, it will feature a single-lens 48MP rear camera. Notably, it's expected to be among the first devices to utilize Apple's new 5G modem.

While a base iPhone 17 will still launch, there will reportedly be no iPhone 17 Plus this year. Apple plans to concurrently sell the iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The Pro models are rumored to see design changes, potentially featuring a half-aluminum, half-glass back for improved durability and a redesigned camera setup.

Apple is finally ready to update its budget iPhone line. The iPhone SE 4 will receive significant improvements, making it a compelling value proposition. The small screen size and Touch ID are gone, with the iPhone SE 4 featuring a 6.1-inch OLED display and Face ID.

In fact, its design is rumored to be based on the iPhone 14. It will feature a single-lens 48MP rear camera, a notch for Face ID, and a USB-C port for charging. The larger screen, OLED technology, Face ID, and higher-resolution camera represent substantial upgrades for the SE series.

Furthermore, this device is expected to be one of the first to use Apple's in-house 5G modem and is rumored to feature the same A18 chip as the current iPhone 16. This will enable Siri to perform more tasks like finding specific information, locating recent files, searching for content within emails (like flight numbers), or reminding you when you took a photo you're looking for.

Siri's ability to perform more actions within and across apps will significantly enhance its efficiency. Users will be able to move files from one app to another, edit photos, and complete multi-step, multi-app workflows that Siri currently can't handle via voice commands.

In iOS 19, to be released in June, Apple plans to introduce LLM Siri a version trained on large language models. This LLM training will bring Siri closer to ChatGPT and Google Gemini, enabling it to understand and generate more natural, human-like responses, perform more complex tasks, and solve more intricate problems. While iOS 18 will add some helpful new Siri features, the real evolution of Siri will come with iOS 19 and beyond.
