On December 23, 2024, Honor launched the Honor Magic7RSR | Porsche Design in Beijing, along with its highly anticipated new "Da Wang" (King) imaging technology. This phone not only continues the excellent lineage of Honor's collaboration with Porsche Design but also sets a new benchmark in the high-end foldable phone market with its groundbreaking imaging technology. This launch marks another significant breakthrough for Honor in the AI imaging field, opening a new chapter in mobile imaging technology development.

Honor's partnership with Porsche Design, starting with the Honor MagicV2RSR | Porsche Design earlier this year, has garnered widespread acclaim in the high-end foldable phone market for its unique design and powerful hardware configuration. The subsequently launched Magic6RSR continued this successful collaboration with its stunning performance and appearance. Now, the arrival of the Magic7RSR | Porsche Design elevates the series to new heights and fuels industry anticipation for future collaborations between the two brands.

The AIRAW large model has 1.4 billion physical modeling data points, capable of addressing over 200 image degradation issues, with a maximum clarity improvement of up to 50%. For ultra-telephoto zoom scenarios exceeding 30x, Honor employs a cloud-based model. This cloud model has 12.4 billion parameters, with an average computation of 1.27 trillion operations per image, achieving significantly improved image quality. Furthermore, the cloud model can continuously learn and upgrade without being limited by local device performance and supports post-processing. Users can select pictures in the gallery for secondary optimization after shooting without lengthy waiting times.

While the on-site experience showed that cloud model image processing takes 3-5 seconds, this is entirely acceptable considering the significant improvement in final image quality. Mobile imaging technology development has entered the algorithm era, and leveraging AI technology for image quality optimization has become crucial. Honor's exploration in AI imaging is undoubtedly aggressive and effective. Although Xiaomi's AISP and vivo's Blue Origin Imaging technologies have also attempted ultra-telephoto algorithms, they often rely solely on local AI computing power to ensure imaging speed, leading to uncontrollable imaging results and limitations due to local computing power constraints. Honor's cloud model effectively avoids these issues, providing a superior solution for ultra-telephoto imaging.

The new Da Wang imaging algorithm will be rolled out to Honor Magic7 and Magic7 Pro phones via system updates this month.
