Revealed: Top 16-30 Domestic Smartphone Unit Sales in the First Week of 2025 Huawei Takes the Lead, How Will Other Brands Respond?
On January 14th, industry insider "RD Observation" released the Top 16-30 ranking of domestic smartphone unit sales for the first week of 2025. This list reveals the latest competitive landscape of the Chinese smartphone market. Let's delve into the analysis and explore the noteworthy highlights and trends.
According to data from "RD Observation," the models ranked 16th to 30th in unit sales for the first week of 2025 are: Huawei Mate60, Huawei Pura70 Pro, Honor 300, Huawei Mate70 Pro+, Redmi Turbo 4, OnePlus Ace5, vivo Y300, Honor Play 60 Plus, Redmi Note 14 Pro, Huawei Pura70 with BeiDou Satellite Communication, Xiaomi 15, OPPO A3 Vitality Edition, Huawei Enjoy 70S, iQOO Neo10, and Huawei nova 13 Pro.
Huawei's strong performance is undoubtedly the most striking aspect of this ranking. Huawei occupies five spots in the Top 16-30 ranking, with four being flagship models: Huawei Mate60, Huawei Pura70 Pro, Huawei Mate70 Pro+, and Huawei Pura70 with BeiDou Satellite Communication. The other is the Huawei nova 13 Pro. Combined with the previously released Top 1-15 list, Huawei has a total of six models in the Top 30, making it the brand with the most models on the list. This perfectly aligns with Huawei achieving the number one position in domestic sales in the first week of 2025, with unit sales data strongly supporting its market leadership.
Huawei's success is largely attributed to the success of its dual flagship strategy with the Mate and Pura series. Sales of flagship models in these two series have been neck and neck in the first and second half of 2025, with even previous generation models maintaining strong market performance. This sustained market heat and brand influence are rare among current domestic smartphone brands. The success of Huawei's Mate and Pura series reflects its comprehensive strength in product R&D, marketing, and brand building.
Besides Huawei, Xiaomi has three models on the list: Redmi Turbo 4, Redmi Note 14 Pro, and Xiaomi 15. However, it's noteworthy that the Redmi Turbo 4, launched in the first week, only ranks 24th. This contrasts sharply with Redmi's usual high ranking for new product releases. This result suggests that the market acceptance of the Redmi Turbo series may be lower than its K and Note series. The inclusion of Xiaomi 15 partially compensates for the relatively low ranking of the Redmi Turbo 4.
Honor, vivo, and OPPO each have two models on the list: Honor 300 and Honor Play 60 Plus; vivo Y300 and another model yet to be announced; and OPPO A3 Vitality Edition and another model yet to be announced.
It's worth noting that among the flagship models launched this week, except for Xiaomi 15, other brands' flagship models did not make it into the Top 30. This indicates that in the intense market competition, simply releasing new phones doesn't guarantee ideal market share; the product's competitiveness and marketing strategy remain crucial. The failure of vivo, Honor, and OPPO's flagship models to enter the Top 30 may also reflect challenges they face in product positioning, market strategy, or supply chain.
From both the weekly brand sales and weekly unit sales rankings, Huawei has made a strong start in 2025, regaining its market position. This suggests Huawei will maintain a strong market offensive in 2025, and the sales of its future models may become even more impressive. For other smartphone brands, facing Huawei's resurgence, they need to carefully analyze the market situation and actively adjust their product and market strategies to cope with the increasingly fierce market competition and avoid being squeezed out of the first tier. Improving product competitiveness, enhancing brand influence, and accurately grasping market demand will be key to whether other brands can achieve breakthroughs in 2025. This requires not only continuous investment in product R&D, but also in-depth strategic adjustments in marketing and brand building.
Huawei's success is not accidental but a reflection of its long-term accumulated comprehensive strength. However, the market competition is ever-changing, and Huawei needs to continually innovate to consolidate its leading position. For other brands, learning from Huawei's successful experience and combining it with their own circumstances to develop effective countermeasures will be crucial for securing a place in the intense market competition. The competition in the Chinese smartphone market in 2025 will be even more intense, and we wait with bated breath to see what unfolds.
