He noted that following the achievement of 100% localized production for Motorola smartphones, Lenovo is preparing to manufacture almost all PC models in India, planning to increase local production year-on-year. This demonstrates Lenovo's proactive approach to localized manufacturing to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and better meet Indian market demands.

Katyal's figures further support Lenovo's growth targets. He stated that compared to 6.4 million units in FY2023-24, Lenovo expects to produce over 12 million devices in India during FY2024-25. "This will help us gradually reduce imports," Katyal added, "We are also developing a component ecosystem in India." This reflects not only Lenovo's confidence in the Indian market but also its active participation in and promotion of the local Indian industrial chain.

Furthermore, Katyal predicts a 40% increase in localized production in the next fiscal year (2025-26) compared to the current fiscal year. Rossi recently predicted that the adoption rate of Artificial Intelligence Personal Computers (AIPC) will reach 40%-50%, even as high as 80%, within the next two to three years. He believes the market potential of AIPC will attract more manufacturers. Dixon Technologies, a key partner for Lenovo in India, also provides strong support for Lenovo's production expansion in the country. Dixon Technologies' Managing Director, Atul Lall, told analysts that the company currently produces 1 million Motorola smartphones per month, including "substantial export orders to the North American market." This indicates that Lenovo's production in India not only meets domestic market demand but also has the capacity to export to global markets, enhancing its global competitiveness.

Although Lenovo India's FY2023-24 sales decreased by 14% year-on-year to 108.47 billion (approximately 9.182 billion RMB), and net profit decreased by 3% to 1 billion (approximately 84.651 million RMB), Katyal is optimistic about the company's performance in the current fiscal year. He pointed out, "From April to September of this fiscal year, our revenue grew by 77%. In terms of Motorola, our sales and shipments doubled in FY24 and the first half of this fiscal year. Moreover, this growth is driven by products above 20,000, so our value growth is higher than volume growth." This shows that Lenovo is adjusting its product strategy, focusing on improving product value to address market challenges.

It's noteworthy that in the previous fiscal year, Lenovo Group's sales reached 170.9 billion (approximately 14.467 billion RMB), including its smartphone business, but Motorola failed to make it into the top 5 smartphone brands dominated by Xiaomi, Samsung, OPPO, vivo, and realme. This means Lenovo faces intense competition in the Indian smartphone market and needs to further enhance its brand awareness and market share to achieve more significant growth.
