网站描述：学校于1959年5月经中共安徽省委批准创建，当时校址设在合肥市南门外原银行学校旧址(现中国科技大学东校区西院)，学校规模800人。1961年迁至蚌埠市交通路校区。1965年学校由全国供销合作总社接管，后更名为安徽商学院。文革期间，一度被迫改办中专并先后更名为安徽省财经学校和安徽省供销商业学校。1978年12月国务院批准恢复安徽财贸学院，由中华全国供销合作总社与安徽省共同管理，以中华全国供销合作总社为主。1983年学校本部迁至宏业路校区（现龙湖西校区）。1984年交通路校区经商业部批准改为商业部安徽商业管理干部学院，安徽财贸学院一个机构两块牌子。1987年“两院”分设，1992年9月“两院”正式合并组成新的安徽财贸学院。学校先后隶属中华全国供销合作总社、商业部、国内贸易部。2000年2月，国务院决定安徽财贸学院实行中央与地方共建，以安徽省政府管理为主，面向全国招生、就业。2004年5月，经教育部批准更名为安徽财经大学，同年9月，学校迁入龙湖东校区。
