网站描述：白城师范学院坐落在素有鹤乡之称的白城市，是吉林省西部唯一的一所本科院校。始建于1958年。2000年8月，吉林省政府决定将白城林业学校并入白城师范高等专科学校；2002年3月经教育部批准升格为本科院校。1999年与四平师范学院联合招收本科生，开始本科教育；2002年学院独立招收本科生；2007年与东北师范大学联合培养硕士研究生，开始硕士研究生教育。2008年6月学院以优异成绩通过了教育部本科教学工作水平评估。目前，学院现已发展成为以师范教育为主，涵盖法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、农学、管理学等多学科协调发展的教学型省属普通本科院校。
