网站描述：保定学院是一所具有百余年办学历史的学校，创建于 1904 年，始称“保定初级师范学堂 ”，创始人是近代著名教育家严修。 1909 年改称“直隶第二初级师范学堂” ,1928 年随省易名为“河北省立第二师范学校”。新中国成立后定名“保定师范学校”。 1978 年经国务院批准改建保定师范专科学校。 2007 年 3 月 16 日，教育部正式下发文件，同意保定师范专科学校升格为本科层次的普通高校，并更名为保定学院。
