网站描述：北京广播电视大学于1960年建校，是全国创建最早的电视大学之一。由北京市副市长，著名历史学家吴晗兼任第一任校长。当时学校设有数学、物理、化学、中文、英语五个系及预科。 至1966年7月共培养专科毕业生6000余人，单科结业36000余人次。“文革”期间学校被迫停办。 1978年邓小平同志批准创办全国广播电视大学，1979年北京电大随之复校。1997年北京市广播电视中等专业学校并入北京电大。
