网站描述：河北大学是河北省唯一一所重点综合性大学，是河北省人民政府与教育部共同建设的省部共建大学。学校的前身是1921年法国耶稣会士于天津创办的天津工商大学，其后数易校名，先后历经天津工商学院、津沽大学、天津师范学院、天津师范大学等时期，1960年改建为综合大学并定名河北大学，1970年由天津迁至国家历史文化名城——河北保定。2005年，河北省职工医学院及其附属医院并入河北大学。
