网站描述：湖南交通职业技术学院是一所全日制公办普通高等学校，前身为成立于 1956 年的湖南省交通学校， 2001 年 8 月，经湖南省人民政府批准，独立升格为高等职业技术学院。学院现有全日制在籍学生 11000 人；教职员工 914 人，其中专任教师 572 人。学院占地面积 910 亩，各种实训仪器设备总值 11684.25 万元。建校 50 多年来，学院始终坚持“厚德树人、技能立业、特色兴校”的办学理念和“立足交通行业、面向市场经济、服务富民强省”的办学定位，为社会特别是交通建设培养了数以万计高素质劳动者和高技能专门人才。 2007 年学院成为湖南省省级示范性高职学院和国家示范性高等职业院校建设单位。先后获得了“全国交通职业教育先进集体”、 “湖南省职业教育先进单位”、“湖南省毕业生就业工作先进单位”、“湖南省文明单位”等荣誉称号。
