网站描述：湖北第二师范学院是一所以教师教育为特色，涵盖文、理、教育、经济、管理、工、法等7大学科门类的省属普通本科院校，是湖北教师教育的重要基地之一。学校前身始于1931年创立的湖北省立教育学院，1944年—1979年先后更名为国立湖北师范学院、湖北省教育学院、湖北师范专科学校、湖北省教师进修学院。1979年5月改为湖北省教育学院，1990年更名为湖北教育学院。2003年4月，湖北省工业学校整体并入。2007年3月，经教育部和湖北省人民政府批准，学校改制更名为湖北第二师范学院。2009年1月，省委、省政府决定湖北省经济管理干部学院并入我校。
