网站描述：湖州师范学院是一所全日制普通本科高等院校。学校办学历史可追溯至1916年的钱塘道第三联合县立师范讲习所，1958年开始高等教育，1994年开始招收本科生。1999年3月，经国家教育部批准，原湖州师范专科学校、湖州师范学校和湖州教师进修学院合并成立湖州师范学院。2000年5月，原湖州卫生学校并入湖州师范学院。2005年11月，学校以“良好”成绩通过了教育部本科教学工作水平评估，实现了跨越式发展。学校以“明体达用”为校训，是浙江省文明单位。
