网站描述：九江职业技术学院是1999年经教育部批准成立的全日制普通高等院校，前身为九江船舶工业学校，创建于1960年，先后隶属于原第六机械工业部、中国船舶工业总公司。1994年，经原国家教委批准举办高等职业教育。1999年4月，学校由国防科工委划归江西省人民政府管理，同年7月经教育部批准改制为九江职业技术学院，是江西省唯一一所省教育厅直属的高职高专院校，是江西省确定的重点建设高职高专院校。2004年，学校被列入中央与地方共建高校基础实验室院校，2007年被国防科工委列为首批国防科技工业职业教育实训基地重点建设单位。2007年10月被教育部、财政部确定为“国家示范性高等职业院校建设计划”立项建设单位，实现了江西省在该项目上零的突破。
