网站描述：泰山医学院的前身是山东医学院楼德分院，自1974年起独立办学，1980年由楼德迁至泰安，1981年经国务院和山东省人民政府批准，定名为“泰山医学院”。1998年经国务院学位委员会批准，成为硕士学位授予权单位。2004年获得同等学力人员申请硕士学位授予权。多年来，学校以服务经济社会发展为己任，继承传统，艰苦创业，教学、医疗、科研、管理等各个方面均取得了显著进步。“十五”期间，学校紧紧抓住高等教育结构调整、快速发展的战略机遇，果断决策，乘势而上。2002年征地近3000亩建设新校区，该项目被列为山东省和泰安市重点建设项目。新校区的建设，使学校办学资源显著增加，办学规模不断扩大，专业领域不断拓宽，教育教学质量和办学水平不断提高。2006年，在教育部本科教学水平评估中被评为优秀高校。
