网站描述：中国石油大学是教育部直属全国重点大学，是国家“211工程”重点建设的高校，是建有研究生院的56所高校之一，也是国家重点支持开展“优势学科创新平台”建设的高校。中国石油大学（华东）是教育部和四大石油石化企业集团（中国石油天然气集团公司、中国石油化工集团公司、中国海洋石油总公司、中国中化集团公司）、教育部和山东省人民政府共建的普通高等学校。学校于1953年建校，时称北京石油学院，1969年迁校山东，改称华东石油学院。1988年，学校更名为石油大学，逐步形成山东、北京两地办学的格局。2005年1月，学校更名为中国石油大学。
