网站描述：渭南师范学院始建于1958年，1962年因经济困难停办。1975年，陕西省政府设立了陕西师范大学渭南专修科，1978年经国务院批准，更名为渭南师范专科学校。1983年，渭南地区创办了以教师在职培训为主的渭南教育学院。2000年3月，经教育部批准，由渭南师范专科学校和渭南教育学院合并组建成立了本科层次的渭南师范学院。学院以教师教育为主，具有学士学位授予权。
