Microsoft stated that its PhoneLink application's support for iPhone is now open to all Windows 11 users. Microsoft announced in February that this feature allows for synchronization of calls, contacts, and information between iPhone and PC, including limited iMessage support.

Since 2015, PhoneLink has had desktop features (under different names) for Android synchronization, but this is the first time it supports iPhone phones. Microsoft has deployed a phased launch, starting with some Windows Insider preview testers in late February. Then, the company launched Universal Availability last month, promising to support all Windows 11 users by mid May. So, today, it says that anyone with a Windows PC and iPhone can now use this new feature.

IPhone's PhoneLink has several limitations, while Android phones do not. Firstly, although it supports iMessage synchronization, it cannot be used for group chatting or sending pictures and videos. In addition, voice messaging and iMessage applications are also unavailable. However, it can still serve as a convenient built-in service, allowing you to avoid switching between your computer and phone.

To get started, you need to search for "PhoneLink" in the Windows taskbar. After opening the application, you still need to set up some things on both devices. Firstly, select iPhone as your device type and use your phone camera to scan the QR code in the PhoneLink application. The device will be paired through Bluetooth, and you need to confirm several permissions on both iPhone and PC. It supports any iPhone running iOS 14.0 or higher.
