It is reported that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8Gen3 adopts the TSMC N4P process, and the CPU part is composed of 1 super core, 5 large cores, and 2 small cores. The super core is the CortexX4, with a CPU frequency of up to 3.7GHz.
Compared to the previous X3, the CortexX4 has increased its peak performance by 15%, and its power consumption is 40% lower than the X3 under the same performance conditions. In terms of footprint, X4 is only about 10% larger than X3, and it also supports up to 2M of L2 cache memory.
In addition, another significant change for CortexX4 is that the new architecture only has AArch64 bit, and AArch32 has been abandoned, meaning that ARM will shift to a pure 64 bit architecture in the future.
