According to channel sources, Qualcomm is set to unveil its latest Snapdragon 8 Gen4 processor at its Snapdragon Tech Summit on October 21st. The chip is manufactured using TSMC's 3nm process and features Qualcomm's self-developed Oryon CPU, adopting a new 2+6 design with 2 super-large cores and 6 large cores.
Sources suggest that the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 will be available in two versions at launch: the standard SM8750 and the high-performance SM8750P. The high-performance version is expected to have a higher frequency for the super-large cores, resulting in superior extreme performance. In fact, Qualcomm has employed a similar strategy with previous generations of Snapdragon 8 platforms, offering standard versions and Samsung for Galaxy custom versions with higher frequencies, followed by a leading version with higher frequencies in the middle of the year. Therefore, it's not surprising that the Snapdragon 8 Gen4 continues this practice.
It's reported that the Xiaomi 15 series will be the first devices to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen4, but only the standard SM8750 version. The SM8750P is expected to debut in the Galaxy S25 series.
