A new report from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) reveals that paid iCloud storage remains the most popular Apple subscription service in the United States. The report shows that nearly two-thirds (64%) of US Apple users opt for paid iCloud storage, surpassing other services like Apple Music, Apple TV+, and AppleCare.

In contrast, Apple Music and Apple TV+ enjoy a 42% and 32% penetration rate among US Apple users, respectively, while AppleCare sits at a mere 17%. While these other services contribute significantly to Apple's service revenue, they face fierce competition. For example, Apple Music must compete with streaming music services like Spotify and Amazon Music, while Apple TV+ contends with streaming video platforms like Netflix, Disney+, and HBO Max.

iCloud, on the other hand, enjoys a unique advantage in the cloud storage market. No other service integrates as deeply with Apple devices as iCloud. Beyond providing storage, iCloud enables seamless syncing of photos, emails, documents, and apps, offering backup capabilities for various Apple devices. Furthermore, iCloud provides additional features like "Find My iPhone" and "Family Sharing," further solidifying its deep integration with the Apple ecosystem.

These factors make iCloud an indispensable tool for Apple users, and even amidst the rise of other subscription services, it continues to maintain its dominant position within Apple's subscription offerings.

According to IT Home, the starting price for paid iCloud subscriptions in China is 6 yuan per month for 50GB of storage, 21 yuan per month for 200GB, and 68 yuan per month for 2TB. Despite the relatively affordable pricing in China, iCloud's penetration rate in the Chinese market is not as high as in the US due to Chinese users' concerns about data privacy and their preference for local cloud storage services.
