IT Home August 22 - According to a blog post published yesterday (August 21) by HMDNews, HMD Global is planning to launch a new mid-range smartphone inspired by the design of the Nokia N9. This would be the second "remake" of the Nokia N9 from HMD, following the potential release of the HMD Skyline.
Leaked renderings show the new phone will be available in green and purple color options. Based on the LED light arrangement of the camera, it is not the previously revealed HMD Hyper.
It's worth noting that after HMD Global announced its "entry into China" on August 17, it has now opened a Sina Weibo account, "HMD Technology," verified as the "official HMD Technology account," separate from the previous "Nokia Mobile" account.
While the official name of this new device remains unknown, based on HMD's recent actions, they seem to be actively exploring the path of remaking classic Nokia models. Previously, they had already released remakes of classic phones like the Nokia 6310 and Nokia 8210 4G.
The launch of this mid-range N9 remake could potentially reignite the interest of Nokia fans. Whether HMD can achieve success with this new phone in the intensely competitive mid-range market remains to be seen.
