Foxconn is usually responsible for assembling "Pro" models for Apple, and according to an earlier report, these plans remain unchanged on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 ProMax. However, it is said that starting from 2024, Apple's main partners will lose exclusive ownership of the iPhone 16 ProMax, and all orders will be provided to Luxshare

Foxconn is usually responsible for assembling "Pro" models for Apple, and according to an earlier report, these plans remain unchanged on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 ProMax. However, it is said that starting from 2024, Apple's main partners will lose exclusive ownership of the iPhone 16 ProMax, and all orders will be provided to Luxshare.

This is the first time in Foxconn's history that it has not received an NPI (New Product Information) for the iPhone 16 ProMax. Analyst Ming Chi Kuo published his latest findings on his Medium blog. He said Luxshare has obtained the exclusive right to operate this model. For those who don't know, NPI is a long process of transforming a product from a conceptual stage to an actual product ready for the mass market.

Luxshare is already a secondary assembly partner for Apple's iPhone15Pro and iPhone15ProMax, and according to reports, Apple hopes to reduce risks by giving Luxshare full responsibility for the production of iPhone16ProMax. In summary, Foxconn's Zhengzhou factory is the world's largest assembly plant, providing 70% of iPhone shipments to all markets. A series of blockades caused by the COVID-19 and the ensuing riots led to a serious decline in the shipments of iPhone14Pro and iPhone14ProMax in the fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter of this year also coincided with Apple's holiday season, which was a period of significant revenue influx for this technology giant. Due to this setback, it lost billions of dollars. Foxconn still received NPI for the iPhone 16 Pro and regular iPhone 16, while Asus received NPI for the iPhone 16 Plus. Due to Apple's belief that Luxshare's production capacity has reached the level of a frontline supplier, it is prepared to take on the responsibility of processing iPhone 16 ProMax orders.

Of course, Foxconn's efforts will be well compensated, but it is said that these changes come at the expense of Foxconn. According to reports, Luxshare's iPhone shipments in 2023 will reach 45 million to 50 million units, a significant shift compared to 2022, with Apple's suppliers shipping only about 20 million units. In 2024, unless otherwise arranged by Apple, the iPhone 16 ProMax will have a new assembly partner.
