According to a recent post by Weibo blogger @DigitalChatStation, OPPO's research lab is currently testing a 7000mAh battery paired with an 80W fast charging solution. Earlier this July, the blogger had already revealed that OPPO's 6500mAh battery was confirmed for production, and they are now exploring a 7000mAh battery with plans to implement it in mid-range models.
In recent years, OPPO-branded phones have consistently been upgrading their battery capacities, gradually surpassing the 5000mAh mark. For example, the recently launched OPPO Reno12 series comes equipped with a 5000mAh battery and 80W fast charging. Previous releases like the OnePlus 12 and OPPO Find X7 series also feature batteries with capacities exceeding 5000mAh and support for 100W fast charging.
Beyond OPPO, Xiaomi is also reported to be researching various battery fast charging solutions. These include: 5000mAh + 120W fast charging, 18-minute full charge for 5500mAh + 100W fast charging, 34-minute full charge for 6000mAh + 120W fast charging, 30-minute full charge for 6500mAh + 100W fast charging, 49-minute full charge for 7000mAh + 120W fast charging, 40-minute full charge for 7500mAh + 100W fast charging, and 63-minute full charge for 7500mAh + 120W fast charging.
Multiple manufacturers testing large battery + high fast charging technology solutions undoubtedly brings good news for users concerned about battery life.
