The introduction of this feature stems from Apple's repair process improvement plan announced on April 11th. The plan is designed to allow users of certain iPhone models and independent repair shops to use certified, second-hand Apple parts for repairs starting this fall. It ensures that these used original parts enjoy the same full functionality and security guarantees as brand-new original parts.
