Today, source GoldenReviewer posted on X platform about the benchmark results of Tensor G4, the chip powering the Google Pixel 9 series, using 3DMark WildLife Extreme. The test results show that Tensor G4 is slightly faster than its predecessor, Tensor G3, but still falls short of the Snapdragon 8Gen1, which is already on the market.

According to the chart shared by GoldenReviewer, the Tensor G4 scored 2618 points in 3DMark WildLife Extreme, slightly higher than the Tensor G3's 2445 points, but lower than the Snapdragon 8Gen1's score. Notably, 3DMark WildLife Extreme primarily stresses CPU and GPU, so these scores can reflect the overall performance of the chip to some extent.

Although it performed slightly worse than the Snapdragon 8Gen1 in 3DMark WildLife Extreme, the Tensor G4, leveraging Samsung's improved 4nm process, excelled in "performance per watt," easily outperforming both the Tensor G3 and Snapdragon 8Gen1. This indicates that the Tensor G4 boasts a significant advantage in power consumption control, implying that the Pixel 9 series might offer better battery life.

Overall, the Tensor G4 chip shows performance progress, but there's still a gap compared to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8Gen1. However, the Tensor G4 has achieved significant improvements in power control, which will likely translate to superior battery life for the Pixel 9 series.
