HMD Global to Release a "Tribute" to the Lumia 1020: Skyline G2
Following the launch of the HMDSkyline, HMD Global is set to release a new phone called the Skyline G2. This phone is considered a tribute to the iconic Nokia Lumia 1020. As previously reported by IT Home, the phone will feature the classic "Fabula" design from the Lumia era on the front and an "Oreo" style quad-camera setup on the back.
Leaked images reveal that the Skyline G2's front design shares a strong resemblance with the Lumia 1020, particularly its iconic "large chin" and "large forehead." The rear of the phone adopts a quad-camera setup similar to current mainstream phones, but the overall aesthetic retains the minimalist elegance of the Lumia 1020.
HMDMeme has revealed that the phone will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen3 processor, making it HMD Global's second true flagship after the Nokia 9 PureView. Unfortunately, the Skyline G2 does not feature the Nokia logo.
In addition to its powerful processor, the Skyline G2 will also sport an FHD+ 144Hz OLED screen, an aluminum frame, dual speakers, a 4900mAh battery (with 33W wired charging), and support for OZO audio technology and PureView technology.
Overall, the Skyline G2 is an extremely attractive phone with a classic design, powerful specs, and a rich feature set, sure to attract the attention of many users. However, the exact release date and pricing of the phone are yet to be announced, leaving us to wait and see.
