vivo Dominates India! 19% Market Share in Q3, Securing First Place for the First Time
Fast Technology, October 18th: Market research firm Canalys has released data for India's smartphone shipments in Q3, revealing a 9% growth in the market with 47.1 million units shipped. vivo shipped 9.1 million units in Q3 India, capturing a 19% market share, marking the first time vivo has topped the shipment charts in the Indian market.
According to Canalys analysts, vivo's rise to the top can be attributed to the launch of its premium device lineup and its aggressive channel profit strategies. Meanwhile, leading brands in the market are actively expanding their high-end product portfolios to address inventory clearance during festive promotions.
The data indicates that Xiaomi follows in second place with 7.8 million units shipped, while Samsung takes the third spot with 7.5 million units shipped. OPPO (excluding OnePlus) and realme secure the fourth and fifth positions with 6.3 million and 5.3 million units shipped, respectively.
Analysts point out that most manufacturers ramped up shipments to meet festive demand, but due to lower-than-expected actual demand, inventory may increase. In Q3, replacement and upgrade buyers favored higher-priced models due to the expansion of mid-to-high-end products, competitive trade-in policies, and accessible financing options.
