With the release of the second beta version of iOS 18.2, Apple has further refined Siri's integration with ChatGPT. OpenAI has long restricted access to the most advanced capabilities of ChatGPT to its paid Plus plan, and therefore, the ChatGPT used through Siri is subject to the same restrictions. Users have the option to upgrade to ChatGPT Plus, priced at $19.99 per month. ChatGPT Plus is based on the latest ChatGPT (GPT-4o), which offers a five-fold increase in information capacity. It also allows for higher limits on photo and file uploads, image generation, and web browsing, along with the option to interact with ChatGPT using an advanced voice mode.
Existing users of the ChatGPT Plus plan can log in using their own accounts, while those without can sign up through the "Settings" app. The Settings app will open an in-app browser allowing users to directly visit the OpenAI website for registration. Permissions for free access to ChatGPT-4o requests reset every 24 hours, and Siri will switch to a more cost-effective ChatGPT version when the limited number of requests is exhausted. It's important to note that the free plan only allows the creation of two images per day using DALL-E3.
