On June 2nd, KuaiTech announced that the iPhone 15 series will debut in September this year, with the iPhone 15Pro and iPhone 15ProMax screens provided by two suppliers, Samsung and LGDisplay.
The report points out that LG provided OLED screens for the iPhone 14Pro and 14ProMax last year, but due to the low yield of LG screens, most of the screen orders for the 14Pro series were eaten by Samsung. It is reported that Apple handed over 70% of the screen orders for the iPhone 14Pro series to Samsung last year.
Nowadays, LGDisplay has expanded its OLED production capacity to meet the screen demand of iPhone15Pro and iPhone15ProMax. This year, LGDisplay will undertake more than half of the screen orders for the iPhone15Pro series.
It is reported that the iPhone 15Pro series uses Apple's customized ProMotion screen, which can automatically adjust the refresh rate based on the content. It is different from the multi file refresh rate on Android phones, and ProMotion adaptive refresh rate is dynamically adjusted based on content.
Simply put, in game scenarios, as long as you open the game, many Android phone screens always have a 120Hz refresh rate. And ProMotion will continuously adjust the refresh rate according to the display needs. For example, when you enter the game settings interface, the refresh rate will decrease to 60Hz or even lower, and the refresh rate will be increased during the game.
In Apple's view, when the content of the screen buffer remains unchanged, there is theoretically no need to refresh. Refreshing once in a second is a waste, and ProMotion can truly achieve smoothness while also saving power.
