Fast Technology, August 20th, news - Digital Chat Station, a well-known Chinese tech blogger, has revealed design details of the upcoming Xiaomi 15 Ultra's engineering prototype. This new smartphone will sport a 2K ultra-narrow deep-curved screen, a metal straight-edged frame, a centrally-positioned large circular camera module housing four lenses, and will offer three material options: leather, glass fiber, and ceramic.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is designed with a focus on imaging. Previously leaked information suggested it would feature Samsung's ISOCELL HP9 periscope telephoto camera. This sensor boasts a massive 1/1.4-inch sensor size and a high resolution of 200MP, capturing incredibly detailed images. Utilizing 4x4 pixel binning technology, even in low-light conditions, it can output crisp and bright 12MP photos, with individual pixel sizes reaching 2.24m.
The ISOCELL HP9 also applies high refractive index micro-lens technology and incorporates new materials for enhanced light sensitivity. Compared to its predecessor, light sensitivity has improved by 12%, and autofocus contrast performance has seen a 10% increase, resulting in more vivid colors and sharper focus in captured images.
Beyond imaging, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen4 mobile platform and will support ultrasonic in-display fingerprint technology.
Based on the leaked information, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra exhibits significant upgrades in terms of appearance, imaging, and performance, making it a strong contender to be Xiaomi's flagship product of the year. The exact release date and pricing remain to be officially announced.
