Despite having a relatively small number of models, Xiaomi has been growing at an astonishing pace, and in the domestic activation volume rankings for the first eight months, it has dominated the competition and successfully reached the top.

According to statistics from "Xiaomajia Bushao," a well-known data analyst in the digital industry, as of August 18, 2024, Xiaomi ranks first in domestic cumulative activation volume, reaching 27.34 million units. Honor comes in second with 27.12 million units activated, Huawei ranks third with 26.66 million units activated, and Apple comes in fourth with 25.87 million units activated. Following closely behind are vivo (23.06 million units) and OPPO (22.14 million units).

It's important to note that the above data for vivo likely doesn't include iQOO, otherwise it wouldn't align with the weekly activation data from industry insider "Wisdom Chip Guide." Similarly, OPPO's data doesn't include realme. Additionally, Huawei's activation volume doesn't include its "Smart Selection" brands. Therefore, considering all factors, Xiaomi's activation volume might not be higher than the combined total of vivo + iQOO. In the first eight months, Xiaomi should at least rank third domestically, even potentially reaching second place.

Regardless, Xiaomi's performance in China this year has been outstanding, far exceeding industry expectations. Last year, some argued that Xiaomi might be the first casualty of Huawei's return, but now it seems that not only has Xiaomi remained unaffected, but it has achieved growth alongside Huawei.

What's even more noteworthy is that the user groups of Huawei and Xiaomi are completely non-overlapping, with the two brands practically maintaining a "long-standing estrangement." Current sales data has proven this point, as Xiaomi and Huawei have maintained their respective advantages in the market without experiencing mutual pressure.

Currently, Xiaomi is pushing hard in the third quarter market, with the Redmi K70 series already fully launched and its high-end flagship models, Xiaomi MIX Fold4 and Xiaomi MIX Flip, also available. Next, the company will update the Redmi Note series and release two major products in the fourth quarter: the Xiaomi 15 series and Redmi K80 series.

Based on Xiaomi's strong product lineup and market performance, there's reason to believe that Xiaomi will secure a top-four position in the overall domestic rankings this year.
