Vivo App Store launched a special campaign to address ad issues during the summer break, targeting violations such as "frequent ads" and "misleading clicks." Vivo has completed multiple rounds of ad violation inspections, reviewing 14,450 apps and assisting developers in complying with regulations for over a thousand apps.

Vivo has shared three case studies showcasing its commitment to cracking down on ad violations:

Case Study 1: App A - Misleading Clicks

App A is a casual entertainment app where users reported excessive ads and malicious charging behavior. Upon investigation, the app's ads were found to mislead users into subscribing to services and directly deducting mobile phone charges after entering their phone number. Vivo removed the app and froze it for 14 days as per platform rules. According to Vivo's ad review guidelines, app ads cannot imitate system notifications, mislead, or induce users to click on ads.

Case Study 2: App B - Frequent Pop-Up Ads

App B is a utility app. Vivo found that it frequently displayed pop-up ads, disrupting user experience. The platform immediately notified the developer to make changes but the issue remained unaddressed. As a result, the app was removed in accordance with platform rules. According to Vivo's ad review guidelines, apps cannot display ads frequently during use, interrupt user operations, or affect the user experience.

Case Study 3: App C - Unclosable Incentive Video Ads

App C is a utility app. During manual inspections, it was found that video ads lacked skip or close buttons, preventing users from closing them. The platform immediately notified the developer to make changes, but the issue remained unresolved. The app was removed in accordance with platform rules. After rectifying the issues, the app can be resubmitted for review. Vivo's ad review guidelines state that users cannot be forced to watch ads and that ads must have a close function.

Vivo App Store's special campaign to address ad issues aims to create a healthy app ecosystem and provide users with a safer, more convenient experience. Vivo will continue to strengthen its ad review efforts, strictly punish apps that violate platform rules, and protect user rights. Vivo also encourages developers to actively cooperate in creating a healthy and orderly app ecosystem.
