Tecno, a brand under Transsion Holdings, recently released a promotional video for its "Phantom Ultimate 2" triple-folding concept phone. While the phone was not showcased at the recent IFA 2024 electronics show, sources suggest a potential official launch at MWC 2025 in March next year.

The "Phantom Ultimate 2" incorporates a dual-hinge, three-panel design. One hinge folds inwards, the other outwards, forming a Z-shape. The phone boasts a slim profile, measuring only 11 millimeters thick. When unfolded, it features a 10-inch 3K LTPO display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and 392 PPI, rivaling tablet capabilities. In its folded state, the screen shrinks to 6.48 inches, comparable to conventional smartphones.

"Phantom Ultimate 2" integrates the latest TDDI display technology, streamlining external touch interactions on the display and achieving a thinner, brighter screen. Tecno claims the device effectively manages screen creases, allowing users to adapt the phone's form to various usage scenarios, such as laptop mode, tent mode, and multitasking mode.

The Tecno Phantom VFold2, model AE10, boasts a horizontal folding design and offers 12GB+512GB storage configuration, priced at approximately 7537.07 yuan (around $1040). It sports a rectangular triple-camera DECO setup on the rear, employs side-mounted fingerprint unlocking, and features an accompanying smart pen, hinting at handwriting capabilities.

In terms of core specifications, the Tecno Phantom VFold2 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset, houses a 5610mAh battery, runs on Android 14, and boasts a 2000x2296 inner screen resolution.

Tecno Phantom VFlip2: Vertical Fold Design, Sleek and Stylish

The Tecno Phantom VFlip2, model AE11, features a vertical folding design and includes a revamped "DesignedbyPhantom" logo and branding on the back. Its design has undergone a significant overhaul, ditching the circular external screen for a seamlessly integrated camera with the main rear camera setup.

In terms of specs, the Tecno Phantom VFlip2 employs the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 processor, incorporates a 4590mAh battery supporting 70W fast charging, provides at least 8GB+256GB storage, and runs on Android 14.

Based on the leaked information, the Tecno Phantom VFold2 appears to offer superior external configuration compared to the Tecno Phantom VFlip2. Both devices have obtained BIS certification, indicating an imminent launch, so interested individuals should stay tuned for updates.

Tecno PocketGo Windows AR Gaming Kit: A New Era of Portable Gaming

Beyond foldable phones, Tecno has unveiled its new PocketGo Windows AR gaming kit, comprising a gaming controller incorporating a Windows PC core and a headset dubbed PocketGoAR PocketVision.

The handheld Windows gaming controller runs on the AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor, encompassing eight cores and 16 threads, with a maximum clock frequency of 5.1GHz, and integrates the Radeon 780M graphics chip. The controller features a detachable 50Wh battery and extensive heat dissipation design, complemented by Hall-effect joysticks and triggers, allowing for precise gaming control.

The PocketGoAR PocketVision headset leverages a six-axis gyroscope for tracking, further enhanced through AI processing. It incorporates a 0.71-inch MicroOLED display, projecting a 215-inch screen experience, boasting a 60Hz refresh rate and supporting 4K content input.
