Samsung is currently testing the Galaxy A16 smartphone, model number SM-A166B, which will only be available in a 5G version and is expected to be priced under 200. This suggests that Samsung could be actively pushing their budget-friendly models towards 5G coverage, further phasing out their 4G product line.
Based on leaked renders, the Galaxy A16 5G will follow the design language of the Galaxy A15, featuring a new blue-green color option. The device adopts a KeyIsland design, with a slightly raised frame around the power and volume buttons. The power/lock button on the right side doubles as a fingerprint scanner. It boasts a teardrop notched display on the front, with a slightly thicker bottom bezel. On the back, it sports a triple camera setup arranged vertically in the top left corner, with the LED flash located above the cameras on the right side.
According to leaked information, the Galaxy A16 5G will feature a 50MP main camera + 5MP ultra-wide camera + 2MP lens on the back, and a 13MP selfie camera on the front, similar to the Galaxy A15. In terms of processors, GeekBench benchmarks suggest the device will be offered in two chipset versions: MediaTek Dimensity 6300 and Exynos 1330. The Exynos 1330 chip scored 967 points in GeekBench 6.3.0 single-core and 1971 points in multi-core, while the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip scored 514 points in GeekBench 5.5.1 single-core and 1464 points in multi-core.
In terms of battery life, leaks indicate that the Galaxy A16 5G will have a rated capacity of 4860mAh, with a typical value estimated at 5000mAh. The battery charging voltage limit is 4.47V, the nominal voltage is 3.88V, the rated energy is 18.86Wh, and it supports up to 45W charging.
Besides the Galaxy A16 5G, Samsung's latest tablet products are also about to launch. Sources revealed that Samsung will launch the Galaxy Tab S10 series tablets on September 26th. The series will only include two versions: Plus and Ultra, with starting prices of 1119 and 1339 respectively.
Based on leaked renders, the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra share a similar design, with the Ultra version featuring a notch on the display and narrower bezels. Both tablets come in two color options: Moonstone Gray and Platinum Silver. They feature a 13MP main camera + 8MP ultra-wide camera setup on the back, are relatively thin, support stylus input, Bluetooth 5.3, and IP68 water and dust resistance.
The Galaxy Tab S10 Plus measures 185.4x285.4x5.6mm and boasts a 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X "anti-reflective" display, a 12MP ultra-wide camera on the front, a 10090mAh battery, and up to 12GB+512GB storage versions, supporting Wi-Fi 6E.
The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra measures 208.6x326.4x5.4mm and features a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X "anti-reflective" display, dual 12MP cameras on the front, an 11200mAh battery, up to 16GB+1TB storage versions (expandable), and Wi-Fi 7 support.
Additionally, sources suggest users will enjoy AI features such as Circle to Search, Note Assist, Transcript Assist, Drawing Assist, Photo Assist, Interpreter, Live Translate, and Chat Assist on both tablets.
