The 9th Huawei Connect Conference was recently held in Shanghai, with the theme "Winning Together for Industry Intelligence." At the conference, Zhu Yonggang, President of Huawei Terminal Cloud, announced an important piece of news: more than 10,000 applications and meta-services have been listed on the HarmonyOS NEXT application market, satisfying 99.9% of consumer usage time. This marks the full maturity and accelerated development of the HarmonyOS ecosystem.

Since its launch on June 21, 2024, HarmonyOS NEXT has been in Beta testing for developers and early adopters, releasing 6 updates and receiving over 1 million feedback suggestions. This strongly demonstrates the enthusiasm of developers and users, and showcases the continuous improvement and iteration of HarmonyOS NEXT.

At the recently concluded China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) forum, Chen Xinxin, General Manager of Huawei HarmonyOS Industry Solutions, revealed the latest update on HarmonyOS NEXT: the official version will be launched in the fourth quarter of this year! This signifies that the HarmonyOS ecosystem is about to enter a new stage of development, and also signifies a brand new breakthrough for China's self-developed and controllable operating system.

It's worth noting that HarmonyOS NEXT is a completely independently developed and self-owned operating system, completely incompatible with the Android system. This means it is not simply a modification based on Android, but a completely new design from the underlying architecture to the application ecosystem.

HarmonyOS NEXT adopts Huawei's full-stack self-developed system foundation, a source-from-China, self-owned and controllable operating system. It abandons the traditional AOSP code, only supporting HarmonyOS kernel and HarmonyOS system applications, further enhancing system fluency and security.
