Tech publication 9to5Mac recently published a blog post sharing more details about Apple's iPhone SE4. The publication believes the source is reliable, having previously accurately leaked information regarding the iPhone 16, increasing its credibility.
According to the source, the iPhone SE4 will sport a more modern look, resembling the iPhone 14, featuring a flat screen, narrow bezels, and a notch at the top. Internally codenamed V59, the device will use an OLED panel with the same resolution as the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 at 1170x2532. The new model will introduce Face ID, eliminating the Home button with TouchID, but will lack the Dynamic Island feature.
The iPhone SE4 is expected to be powered by the A18 chip, coupled with 8GB of RAM, supporting Apple-branded AI features. It will also utilize the same SoC found in the iPhone 16, equipped with a 5-core GPU.
Camera-wise, the iPhone SE4 will sport the same 48MP main camera and 12MP front-facing camera found in the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. However, it will lack ultrawide or telephoto lenses, potentially boasting a 2x optical zoom feature.
The iPhone SE4 will be equipped with Apple's first self-developed 5G modem codenamed "Centauri," supporting Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The new modem is expected to significantly reduce battery consumption, particularly in low-power modes. Notably, the modem does not support millimeter-wave (mmWave) technology, which might limit the iPhone SE4's 5G performance in certain high-frequency network environments.
The iPhone SE4 is projected to launch in Spring 2025, with a potential price range of $459 to $499.
