As we approach mid-October 2024, news about the next generation of vivo's foldable phone is starting to surface. Following the release of the vivo XFold3 series of foldable phones, rumors about its successor, the vivo XFold4, have been circulating. Recently, a vivo phone with model number V2429A has passed the telecommunications equipment network access license certification. Although the certification information didn't reveal many details, it's widely believed that the phone is the Chinese version of the upcoming vivo XFold4 foldable phone.

Previously, a vivo device with model number V2429 appeared in the IMEI database. At the time, the news also indicated that this device could be the new vivo XFold4. Combined with the latest network access certificate, it's even more certain that V2429A is the Chinese version of the vivo XFold4.

Besides the network access certification, well-known digital blogger @DigitalChatStation has also released what seems to be detailed specs of the vivo XFold4. The leak mentions, "Got my hands on a new foldable with SM8750, central big circle camera setup, 50Mp triple camera + single periscope, 6K upper and lower silicon batteries, keeping wireless charging and IPX8, thickness down to 8.xmm, fiberglass version weighs 21xg, super impressive... ."

According to the leak, the vivo XFold4 will be powered by the latest generation Snapdragon 8 processor and feature a rear camera system with a 50MP triple camera setup + a single periscope lens. Compared to the previous generation vivo XFold3 Pro, the new phone will have a larger battery, support wireless charging, and feature a thinner and lighter body.

Previously, IMEI database information showed that the vivo XFold4 will have a 6365mAh battery capacity, which is higher than the equivalent 5700mAh battery capacity of the previous generation vivo XFold3 Pro. At the same time, the leaked information also indicates that the vivo XFold4 will have a thickness of 8.xmm and a fiberglass version weight of only 21xg, demonstrating once again vivo's commitment to making foldable phones lighter and thinner.

It's worth noting that the vivo XFold3 series offered two versions, the vivo XFold3 and the vivo XFold3 Pro, starting at 6999 yuan. The vivo XFold3 features an equivalent 5500mAh battery, 80W fast charging, a Zeiss triple main camera system with 50MP sensors, an 8.03-inch main screen, a 6.53-inch secondary screen, and is powered by the second-generation Snapdragon 8 processor. The vivo XFold3 Pro, on the other hand, is equipped with the third-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 flagship chip, an 8.03-inch inner screen, a 32MP selfie camera on both the inner and outer screens, a 50MP ultra-sensitive VCS bionic large-bottom main camera, a 64MP Zeiss super telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera.
