Tech News, October 22nd - Realme officially announced that the GT7 Pro will be the first phone to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, a new flagship processor that will debut this month. The company also revealed that the GT7 Pro will be available in over 10 countries and regions globally, including India, Italy, Spain, Malaysia, and Thailand, starting in November.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy is Qualcomms latest flagship processor, featuring the second generation self-developed Oryon CPU. Based on TSMC's 3nm process, it utilizes a "2+6" design, comprising two 4.32 GHz super cores and six 3.53 GHz performance cores. Compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, its frequency has increased by approximately 31% and 10%, respectively. Additionally, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy boasts a 24 MB CPU cache, with 12 MB L2 cache shared among the two super cores and another 12 MB L2 cache shared among the six performance cores. It also supports 5.3 GHz LPDDR5x memory.
Qualcomm claims that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy achieves a 45% improvement in both single-core and multi-core performance compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, while also delivering a 45% energy efficiency enhancement. The newly designed Adreno GPU features significant changes, adopting a slice architecture where the internal rendering units are divided into three independent slices. Each slice operates at its corresponding clock speed, enabling dynamic allocation based on varying workloads. This allows for flexible GPU performance scheduling, optimizing energy efficiency.
Besides the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, the Realme GT7 Pro boasts a unique customized Samsung 1.5K full-depth quad-curved display, dubbed by the company as "an epoch-making ten-thousand-yuan screen." ChuChu_Jessie, Chief Marketing Officer of realme China, emphasizes that the Realme R&D team has fundamentally addressed the OLED eye protection issue at the hardware level, surpassing other smartphone brands by at least a generation in technological advancement.
