According to blogger "Factory Manager is Guan Student," the Huawei Mate70 series is set to launch around November 20th, alongside the MateX6 foldable phone. The series boasts significant upgrades over the previous Mate60 series, with the Pro+ version being particularly anticipated.

The Mate70 series presents two design styles: the standard version features a circular camera module, while the higher-end variant opts for an octagonal design. Both models include side-mounted fingerprint recognition and 3D facial recognition. Notably, the imaging specifications differ between versions. The standard model houses a 50MP OV50H main camera from OmniVision, while the higher-end version employs a 50MP OV50K main camera.

The OV50K main camera stands out with its pioneering integration of TheiaCel technology. This technology leverages the capabilities of Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor technology (LOFIC) to deliver exceptional single-shot HDR performance in challenging lighting conditions. Furthermore, the OV50K sensor supports 4-in-1 pixel binning, achieving a 12.5MP resolution. It also enables 120fps and 60fps (HDR) frame rates, along with quadruple light sensitivity, thereby improving image quality in low-light scenarios.

Another major breakthrough in the Mate70 series is the debut of a brand-new native HarmonyOS operating system. This system adopts a completely independent and self-developed system architecture, fully replacing the Linux kernel. It encompasses self-developed technology across the stack, including the kernel, file system, programming languages, design systems, AI frameworks, and large models. It no longer supports Android open-source applications.

Native HarmonyOS exhibits notable performance advantages. Compared to Linux, the HarmonyOS kernel boasts a 10.7% performance improvement, translating to a 30% overall system performance boost and a 20% reduction in power consumption. Currently, over 15,000 native HarmonyOS applications and metaservices are online, with rapid iteration of native HarmonyOS apps, with new versions released almost daily.

According to a research report by Counterpoint Research, HarmonyOS surpassed Apple's iOS in the first quarter of this year, claiming a 17% market share and becoming the second-largest smartphone operating system in China. As the first pure-blooded HarmonyOS flagship, the Mate70 series launch is undoubtedly highly anticipated. The series is set to deliver a completely new experience in terms of imaging, system, and performance, offering users a more intelligent, convenient, and efficient mobile experience.
