Huawei's mobile phone product line continues to gain momentum, with upcoming releases of the Pocket3, Nova14 series, and Pura80 series expected to significantly impact the market. Simultaneously, Huawei has made remarkable progress in its operating system, accelerating its update and iteration speed. I recently updated my Huawei Mate60 Pro to the latest system version and have compiled my experiences here.

The update package was a sizable 1.71GB, far exceeding previous updates of a few hundred MB, indicating substantial content. After the update, the phone didn't exhibit significant overheating; only a slight warmth during the restart before returning to normal. Signal strength remained unaffected, but battery life requires further observation currently at one charge per day.

Several improvements were noted: background apps can now be locked, particularly useful for WeChat to prevent accidental clearing; however, manually closing a task card also disables the screen lock feature, which is restored after a restart. The previously requested browser feature to add websites to the desktop as shortcuts is now available these detail optimizations are welcome.

However, some issues persist, and some expected features remain absent. For example, the desktop layout still doesn't support a 4x6 grid, status bar notifications are unstable (either no notifications or only displayed in the notification center), and notifications aren't displayed on the lock screen. Furthermore, the return of the Changlian Express Assistant, the launch of screen sharing, direct connection to family storage albums, and the hidden Wi-Fi function are key issues Huawei needs to address.

The current HarmonyOS NEXT system isn't fully mature, but its current performance is commendable. This update introduces many new features and functionalities; for instance, the "Air Dunk" theme game, previously exclusive to the Huawei Mate70 series, has been rolled out to more devices.

The newly added Air Transfer feature allows for file sharing with a simple grab-and-release motion, but both devices need to run HarmonyOS. Other additions include: dynamic mood and mood space themed emojis, enhanced sharing (supporting the sharing of tens of thousands of images in a single instance with HarmonyOS 3 and above devices), the option to end calls via the power button, a new file vault in the privacy and security center, the ability to add blank pages to the desktop editing interface, the ability to drag images from the Super Transfer Station into the gallery, privacy blurring for screenshots, the ability to lock tasks in the multitasking center, and USB wired connection to HUAWEI HiCar.

These improvements significantly enhance user experience, with noticeably smoother animations. This upgrade covers numerous models, laying a solid foundation for Huawei's future development.

These issues highlight the need for continued effort to provide a more complete and convenient operating system experience.
