On May 30th, IT Home reported that Intel had recently held a Computex 2023 conference,Showcased the prototype of the MeteorLake processor, with a focus on demonstrating some of the functions of the coprocessor VPU in the processor.

The MeteorLake processor no longer uses a monolithic design, but instead adopts a decentralized design that combines passed chips to meet different work tasks.

The multifunctional processing unit (VPU) provided in MeteorLake mainly comes from Movidius, which was acquired by Intel in 2016. Intel can accelerate the processing of tasks related to AI algorithms and machine learning models by introducing VPU.

The main tasks of VPU in MeteorLake include real-time processing of photos and videos, filtering applications, automatically blurring backgrounds, scaling applications, replacing images, and more. In addition, VPU also has the ability to recognize user eye movements and gestures in real-time.

IT Home previously reported that this processor was completed two weeks ago, with 16 cores and 22 threads, 1.6MB of L1 cache, 18MB of L2 cache, and 24MB of L3 cache.
