Recently, the GeekBench benchmark scores for Samsung's virtual reality (VR) headset, model "SM-I130", were leaked. The benchmark data shows that the headset boasts impressive performance, running the latest Android 14 operating system and featuring 16GB of RAM.
According to sources, Samsung's XR headset has already entered mass production and is expected to be released before the end of 2024, with an estimated price of $2,000. This headset will directly compete with Meta's Quest Pro series.
In terms of hardware, the Samsung VR headset utilizes the advanced Snapdragon XR2+Gen2 SoC chip, which is a hexa-core design with a base clock speed of 2.36GHz and a maximum clock speed of 2.4GHz. On the GPU front, it features the high-performance Adreno 740.
In GeekBench 6.3.0 benchmark testing, the headset achieved a single-core score of 1088 and a multi-core score of 2093, demonstrating excellent performance. The GeekBench benchmark database has recorded 7 scores related to this headset, indicating that Samsung's VR headset has entered the market promotion stage.
Previously, TM Roh, President of Samsung's mobile division, revealed at the Galaxy Unpacked launch event that Samsung would be launching a new XR platform.
