According to digital blogger Digital Chat Station, the early engineering prototype of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra features a slightly curved screen with a uniform depth, a metallic frame with straight edges, and a centered circular camera module on the back. While maintaining the quad-camera setup with dual telephoto lenses, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra sees a significant change in lens arrangement, with a significantly larger periscope lens and a 50MP main camera larger than its predecessor.

The leak reveals that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra's periscope telephoto lens utilizes the Samsung ISOCELL HP9 sensor, the first 200MP telephoto sensor to be implemented in a smartphone. The HP9 boasts an ultra-large 1/1.4-inch sensor and integrates 200 million 0.56m pixels, resulting in a 12% improvement in light sensitivity compared to its predecessor. Moreover, the HP9 supports Tetrapixel technology, enabling the merging of 16 pixels into a single 12MP, 2.24m large sensor, facilitating clearer portraits even in low-light conditions.
