According to TrendForce's latest research, Apple's upcoming iPhone 16 series will feature the new A18 and A18Pro processors. To support the AppleIntelligence feature, the DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory) will be upgraded across the board.
TrendForce states that market anticipation for the AppleIntelligence feature has heightened after WWDC24. Coupled with a lower base in 2023, TrendForce estimates that Apple's four new models will reach a total output of 86.7 million units in the second half of 2024, representing an increase of almost 8% year-over-year.
The report indicates that both models in the iPhone 16Pro series will have slightly larger display sizes compared to their predecessors. While there were rumors suggesting that the iPhone 16 and 16Plus would upgrade to a 90Hz refresh rate, they will ultimately remain at 60Hz.
It's noteworthy that the DRAM capacity of the iPhone 16 and 16Plus has also been upgraded. This means all four new models will feature 8GB of LPDDR5X, a move intended to support the AppleIntelligence feature.
